Westminster resident throws birthday bash - with a Liberal twist!9.00.00am BST (GMT +0100) Fri 30th Apr 2010 Abdulaziz Masoud, a Bayswater resident, was pleased to add a little political twist to his birthday party celebrations last week. Having only recently decided to join the Liberal Democrats, Masoud decided that he was going to do something slightly different this year, and provide his 30 party guests with Lib Dem posters and literature! "I have always liked what the Lib Dems have to say, but seeing Nick Clegg on TV two weeks ago made me even more determined to get involved." "So I decided that I would do my bit to try and spread the word about the Lib Dems to my friends and family -- at my very own birthday party! I gave every guest a 'Focus' leaflet about the Lib Dems in Bayswater, a sticker and some balloons -- which they all greatly enjoyed! In fact, many of them have said that they are thinking of voting Lib Dem." Mark Blackburn, a Bayswater campaigner and parliamentary candidate for Westminster North, said: "I think Abdulaziz's idea was absolutely brilliant! The Lib Dems can't rely on big donors or trade unions for support, can't afford big billboards or expensive mailings: we rely on the most honest and meaningful communication there is, word of mouth. Real people, talking about real change to their friends, family -- and birthday guests! If you like the Lib Dems, get out there and start talking to your colleagues and gym partners, in laws and cousins, friends and loved ones - tell them why YOU are voting Lib Dem, and how they too can be part of this force for change."
