Local LibDems are backing the campaign to Take Back Power

Westminster's two Liberal Democrat parliamentary candidates Naomi Smith and Mark Blackburn are backing a plan to change politics for good.

The plan, which could be enacted by Parliament within 100 days, would deliver real, positive change to our political system:

  • empowering people to sack their MP

  • ensuring that MPs can't be bought off by party donors

  • giving people the right to find out what the government is doing

  • cutting down the excessive power of government

  • making sure that every vote counts

The full plan can be found online at http://www.takebackpower.org/

Commenting, LibDem spokesperson in the Cities of London and Westminster Naomi Smith said, "There is so much public pressure for reform of our politics, and it is the Liberal Democrats that have always believed in just that kind of reform."

Her fellow local LibDem, Mark Blackburn, added, "This plan would empower people and cut down the excessive power of central government. I'd encourage everyone who believes in changing politics for good to take a look at the plan, and sign up to support it."
