Local residents' survey launched for Westminster and the City of London

4.28.42pm BST (GMT +0100) Tue 25th Jul 2006

Local Liberal Democrats are launching a residents' survey for people who live in Westminster or the City of London. The survey will be delivered door-to-door in some neighbourhoods and is available online to all residents.

The party has surveyed some areas previously, but now plans to open the survey to the whole of Westminster and the City of London and conduct a residents' survey at least once a year.

Commenting, Jo Hayes, chair of the local Liberal Democrats, said:

"Local people don't just hear from the Liberal Democrats at election time. We work throughout the year and even now - with the next set of local elections here in Westminster almost four years away - we are surveying residents.

"We want to hear from local people about how local services can be improved. We will use that information to press for change where it is most urgently needed.

"All local people can fill in the survey at our website and the link to it is on the frontpage."
